At Panamá Sonríe — Dental Clinic we handle your personal data with the same care we give your smile. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we use it, and what rights you have over it.
In short: we only ask for the data we need to care for you, we never sell your information, and you can ask us at any time to show, correct or delete it by writing to [email protected].

2. What data we collect
Data you give us
- Contact details: full name, phone or WhatsApp number, and email address.
- Information about your case: the treatment you are interested in, when you would like to start, and what you tell us about your dental situation.
- Clinical data: if you become a patient — medical history, diagnoses, X-rays, intraoral photographs, treatments performed and payments. This is sensitive data and receives enhanced protection.
Data collected automatically
- Browsing data on this site (pages visited, approximate device, traffic source) through cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta pixel.
3. Where we collect it
- Forms on this website.
- Conversations on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram.
- Forms inside Facebook and Instagram ads.
- Phone calls and in-person visits to our clinics.
4. Why we use your data
- To answer your questions and give you information on treatments and pricing.
- To schedule, confirm and remind you of your appointments.
- To provide dental care and maintain your clinical record.
- To manage payments, quotes and invoicing.
- To improve our services and measure the performance of our advertising.
- To send you promotional information, only if you have agreed to receive it.
We never sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
5. Who we share it with
We share data only with providers that help us operate, and only what is strictly necessary:
- Patient and appointment management platforms, to maintain your record and schedule.
- Messaging and customer management platforms, to handle your conversations and send reminders.
- Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), when you contact us through those channels or interact with our ads.
- Competent authorities, where required by law.
Some of these providers may store information outside Panama. In those cases we require them to apply adequate safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
- Clinical records: for the period required by Panamanian health regulations.
- Contact details of prospective patients who did not proceed: up to 2 years from last contact, or sooner if you ask us to delete them.
- Billing data: for the period required by tax regulations.
7. Your rights
Under Law 81 of March 26, 2019 on Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Panama, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your data, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it.
- Object to certain processing, such as receiving marketing communications.
- Portability of your data.
To exercise them, write to [email protected] stating your full name and the right you wish to exercise. We will respond within the timeframes set by law.
8. How we protect your information
We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your data: access restricted to staff who need it, encrypted connections on our website, and management platforms with security controls. No system is infallible, but we work to keep risks to a minimum.
9. Cookies and advertising
This site uses first- and third-party cookies to function properly, understand how it is used, and measure the effectiveness of our advertising. We use the Meta pixel, which allows us to show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and adjust your ad preferences in your Meta account settings.
10. Minors
We treat patients under 18 only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who authorizes the processing of their data. We do not collect data from minors through digital channels without that authorization.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or applicable regulations change. The current version will always be published on this page, with its update date.
